The type FV bellows can be manufactured with sharp as well as round folds. It can therefore be precisely adapted to specific operating conditions. Round folds are especially well-suited for medium pressure stresses and where good cleanability is stipulated. Sharp folds are better suited for low pressure stresses and high stroke frequencies.
This type of bellows is used mostly as a pump element in dosing pumps, control valves and shut-off valves and in filling lines in chemical and process engineering, in mechanical engineering and in the food industry. The operating temperature ranges between -20 °C to +150 °C.
For increased strength, the bellows head can be manufactured from a more pressure-resistant PTFE compound such as PTFE + glass fiber. Threaded bushings for the securing of spindles can be wound or sintered into the bellows head.
